Meet Rachael

Rachael Cuevas-Ortiz is a strategic consultant with a unique blend of expertise in the Big Tech, pharma, research, and hospitality sectors. With a career spanning global corporations, non-profits, and innovation-driven startups, she partners with clients to design forward-thinking strategies that help translate vision into execution.

Rachael has held several roles at Amazon’s corporate headquarters in Seattle, managing portfolios totaling more than $250MM in annual revenue, driving operational improvements across entire categories, contributing to product development, international expansion, advertising, and more. During her MBA, she led high-impact consulting projects for Eli Lilly and IBM, where she worked cross-functionally to deliver solutions to each company’s real-world business challenges. While at Fred Hutch, she oversaw projects involving longitudinal oncology and smoking cessation studies, including compiling reports and recommendations for foreign health ministries. Her work across varied industries has equipped her to solve complex problems with data-backed agility, measurable results, and intuitive prowess.

Rachael earned an MBA with a focus on Strategy from IE Business School, a top-ranking European university located in Madrid, Spain, and a Bachelors in International Business from North Seattle College. She has lived in 4 countries and is multilingual; in addition to her native English & Spanish, she has an intermediate command of French, is learning Italian, and has a basic understanding of Japanese.

Some of Rachael’s favorite activities include traveling, hosting dinner parties, discovering new cities through running, scuba diving, reading in parks, saying hi to all the dogs, and introducing her niece and nephew to her favorite childhood movies. She is also a major advocate of life-long learning and continuous upskilling; her newest educational endeavor is in quantum computing, which she believes will usher in the next wave of truly unprecedented technological advancements.
